【Profile】

The department has a strong medical force, consisting of two sections. In Section One there are three chief doctors and professors, two associate chief doctors, one doctoral supervisor and two master supervisors, three of the staff obtained doctoral degree and four obtained master degree. In this section, there are one member of Academic Leader of Zhenjiang, one member of Zhenjiang Medical Leading Talent, and one member of Professional Committee of Respiratory Diseases Society of Jiangsu Medical Association of Chinese Medical Association. In Section Two, there are four chief doctors, two associate chief doctors, one expert enjoying the Special Allowance of the State Council, one doctoral supervisor, one director and one vice director of provincial or municipal professional committee of respiratory diseases, and four of the member of respiratory diseases study group.

【Technical Features】

The department has made high-level achievements in the treatment of common respiratory disease, frequently-occurring diseases and intractable diseases. It is now the leading force inZhenjiang. Its research and treatment of asthma and lung cancer is in the leading position inChina. Its rescue of acute and chronic respiratory failure, severe pneumonia, and the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease is at the advanced level inJiangsuprovince. It regularly performs the treatments, including polysomnography of sleep apnea syndrome, pulmonary function tests, fiberoptic bronchoscope, transbronchial needle aspiration lung biopsy, percutaneus aspiration lung biopsy, stenting therapy of the tracheobronchial stenosis, and interventional treatment of massive hemoptysis.

The department actively participates in scientific research. We have presided over two projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, have won the Prize of provincial and municipal Science and Technology Progress and the Prize of Introduction of Innovative Medical Technology of Jiangsu Provincial Commission of Health and Family Planning several times. The staffs of this department have published more than 100 pieces of scientific theses on domestic and international medical periodicals, over 30 pieces indexed by SCI.

Section One of Respiratory Department

Qian Fenhong, PhD, associative chief doctor, master supervisor, is the member of Zhenjiang Medical Leading Talent, the member of Professional Committee of Respiratory Diseases Society of Jiangsu Medical Association, the member of Asthma Group of Respiratory Diseases Society of Jiangsu Medical Association, the vice dean of internal medicine department of medicine school of Jiangsu University. She once made scientific study inTaipeiVeteransGeneralHospitaland theUniversityofSiena. She mainly specializes in the basic and clinical research of bronchial asthma. She is skilled in the treatment of common and intractable respiratory diseases, including bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), pulmonary infection and lung cancer. At present, she has presided over one general project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and one project of Zhenjiang Social Development Programs, which is now concluded. What is more, she has participated in one general project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and published 6 pieces of theses indexed SCI. She has also received two of the Prize in Science and Technology Progress of Zhenjiang, and two of the Prize in the Introduction of Innovative Technology of Zhenjiang.

Section Two of Respiratory Department

Zhen Jinxu, PhD, chief doctor, professor, doctoral supervisor, is the member of the Interstitial Lung Disease Group of Chinese Medical Association, the Academic and Technical Leader of Jiangsu province, the vice director of Jiangsu Respiratory Society, the vice director of the Professional Committee of Gerontology of Jiangsu Medical Association, the director of Jiangsu Geriatric Respiration and Oncology Group, the director of Zhenjiang Thoracic Society, the member of Key Medicine Talents of Jiangsu province “135”Project. He has been to theUKas visiting scholar. What is more, he is the member of the Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contribution of Jiangsu Province.
